A woman has surprised many by revealing that the secret to a happy marriage is breastfeeding her spouse. Now rising to internet stardom, the couple describe themselves as “boundary pushers” on their YouTube channel, adding they “don’t conform to what everybody expects”.
Rachel Bailey, 30, started breastfeeding her husband Alexander, also 30, in 2017, when she found herself over-lactating following the birth of her second child.
The mother of three narrated that she went on a cruise with her husband after the birth of her child and forgot to carry her breast pump.
“When my middle child, Aria, now six, was breastfeeding, I went away on a cruise with Alexander. However, I forgot my breast pump and was badly engorged for two days. I was in so much pain and I was scared about getting an infection, so we decided that my husband was going to try drinking the milk to relieve me. We were nervous about the idea of him breastfeeding from me but as soon as we did it, we realised it was perfectly fine.”
Turns out, Alexander actually liked the taste of his wife’s breast milk – even preferring it to cow’s milk now.
Alexander felt so much more energised when he was drinking my milk,’ said Rachel.
“He didn’t get a cold for two years after he started drinking my milk and so many people said his skin was so much better too,” said Rachel.
After she gave birth to her third child, Rachel – who was over-lactating again – breastfed her husband at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Now that she’s producing less milk, she’s only able to feed Alexander at night. She expressed her intent to allow her children to naturally decide when they are ready to stop breastfeeding.
“I currently breastfeed my two-year-old son and I plan to breastfeed my two-year-old until he is completely over breastfeeding.”
For Rachel, breastfeeding her husband isn’t just a preference but a necessity.
