Job Openings for PSC
The Public Service Commission (PSC), on Tuesday, May 31, conveyed an announcement stating that it was seeking to employ 61 drivers in the State Department of Social Service.
The external memo indicated that salaries for the job are between Ksh15,670 for the newly employed and Ksh17,570 for those that have served for some years.
Possession of a valid driving licence is a prerequisite for the job.
Again, prospective candidates should also have first-aid knowledge attained at St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) for one week.
Other prerequisites include: finishing a driver grade III test, passing a practical motorist test by the Ministry, having a certificate of good conduct and also possessing a minimum of two years of driving experience.
How to apply:
Those who are interested are instructed to visit and fill out a form on the Ministry’s website, social protection.go.ke/jobs, specifying their credentials for the job, which entails academic as well as adept achievements.
The Ministry announced that only shortlisted prospects would be contacted by the end of the preliminary perusal of all documents.
Those who shall demonstrate merit will be offered permanent employment and deployed to various parts of the country.
At their work station, they will operate and drive government vehicles. Having a government vehicle will require the drivers to carry out routine checks, mostly on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, and brake systems and tyre pressure.
The Ministry of East African Community (EAC), Labour and Social Protection was founded as an outcome of the re-organization of the government in May 2013. The new Ministry integrated the old Ministry of Labour and a portion of the discarded Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development.
They are not well known, but the two defunct ministries have existed in various forms under different regimes for the past 60 years.
